CARTES. - Route de Paris à Strasbourg. S.l.n.d. [second half of the 18th century]. Manuscript in-4 oblong, half-red morocco with small vellum corners, red morocco title-piece on the first cover, smooth spine decorated in the grotesque style (Modern binding in the antique taste). Beautiful manuscript of 93 finely watercolored plans and maps, detailing the route from Paris to Strasbourg. The route takes in the towns of Meaux, La Ferté sous Jouarre, Château-Thiéry, Verdun, Metz, Sarrebourg, Phalsbourg and others. Also included are routes linking Strasbourg to towns such as Huningue, Belfort (misspelled Betfort) and Landau, with stops in Sélestat, Colmar, Neubrisac (Neuf-Brisach), Fort-Louis, Lauterbourg and Haguenau.
