[LIROU (Jean-François Espic, dit le chevalier de)]. Diane et Endimion, opera in three acts. Paris, De l'Imprimerie de P. de Lormel, 1784. In-4, green morocco, fleur-de-lis lace around covers, coat of arms in center, spine decorated with repeated fleur-de-lis, blue tabis lining and endpapers, gilt edges (period binding). First edition. The opera Diane et Endymion was first performed by the Académie royale de musique on September 7, 1784, set to music by Niccolo Piccini. A green morocco copy bearing the coat of arms of the Comte d'Artois, brother of Louis XVI and future king under the name of Charles X. Corners rubbed, small restoration to upper headpiece and small chip to tail.
