RABELAIS (François). Aphorismorum hippocratis sectiones septem. Lyon, Sébastien Gryphe, 1543. 2 parts in one volume in-16, brown basane, double gilt fillet, ornate spine, red title page, red edges (18th century binding). Very rare edition of Hippocrates' Aphorisms, commented on and translated into Latin by Rabelais. First published in 1532 by the same Sébastien Gryphe. The second part, in separate pagination and with its own title page, contains the Greek text (Baudrier, t. VIII, p. 174; Plan, p. 234, n°XI.). Wormholes throughout the volume, localized in the lower part and affecting a few letters, some restored on the first 18 leaves. Binding rubbed with wormholes on second board.
