Curious publication from the polyglot printing house of Rome's Propaganda Fide, produced by the printing house's workers for their director. The text presented, written in praise of Federico Melandri, was translated and printed in 32 different languages, including Hebrew, Chaldean, Syriac, Armenian, Turkish, Coptic, Ethiopian, Greek, Latin, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, Slavonic, English, Norwegian and French. Founded in 1626, the Propaganda Fide printing house merged with the Vatican printing house in 1908 to form the current Tipografia Poliglotta Vaticana. Among the many important works published by this establishment is the first complete edition of the Bible in Arabic (1671).
