LE SAGE (Alain-René). Le Diable boiteux. Preceded by a notice on Le Sage by Jules Janin. Paris, Bourdin, 1842. In-8, red morocco, triple gilt fillet, fillets and roulette drawing an interior frame, large fleurons in spandrels, ornate spine, interior lace, gilt edges (Gaillard). Reprint of the 1840 edition, illustrated with a full-length portrait of Le Diable boiteux engraved by Brevière, printed on chine collé, and 140 vignettes in the text by Tony Johannot. One of the few copies on chine. Very elegant signed binding. Label of the Simonson bookshop in Brussels.
