Paris, Ambroise Dupont, 1838. 2 volumes in-8, long-grained brown half-maroquin with corners, ribbed spine with gilt title, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine (René Aussourd). First edition. Volume II, p. 312, contains a map showing Napoleon I's march from Pierre-Chatel to Vizille on his return from Elba. A guide written by Stendhal in the form of the diary of an iron merchant whose work takes him to the provinces. From the Pierre Duché and Édouard Périer libraries (1977, no. 225). At the end of Volume II, a very attractive catalog of Ambroise Dupont's Publications dated June 1, 1838 (16 pp.). Hole deleting two letters from two words on p. 123 of Volume I.
