Ram's head wakemia spoon, Dan Ivory Coast Wood L. 55 cm Large Wakemia ceremonial spoon with long spoon and carved handle. The concave surface of the spoon balances the delicate zoomorphic head with its volume and length. Its depth, a promise of rice, echoes the wealth and generosity of its owner. Atop the powerful neck stands a superb ram's head. The horns fall gracefully down the head. The eyes are slit. The temples are adorned with incised arrowhead motifs.
