Seated on a stool, she holds her hands to her belly. The object is a fine example of a Sénoufo female statue featuring the traditional ritual scarification marks on the cheeks, the marked chest and incisions on the hips. These were often representations of Katyelo, the mythical ancestor of the Senufo.
