MOVABLE BINDING. Dictionnaire des romans anciens et modernes. Paris, A. Marc, Pigoreau, September 1819. In-8, green half-basane, smooth spine decorated (Period binding). A very rare loose binding, patented by a man named M. Adam, it bears the label of the 1827 exhibition. The binding is well used, as it also contains a supplement to this dictionary, and at the end 2 leaves of the patent for the invention of the binding. Another copy of this mobile binding was pre-empted by the BnF (Bibliothèque CL, sale July 1, 2020, n°131). Covers slightly damaged.
