In-folio, half-fauve basane, smooth spine decorated, black title and chapter pages (late 19th century binding). Second edition in Spanish, after that of 1601, with copper-engraved title-frontispiece and 14 folding maps. (Sabin, n°31541 and 31546.) The work, which covers the history of America from its discovery to the 1550s, joins the 8 decades of the Historia general de los hechos de los castellanos en las islas y tierra firme del mar oceano by the same author (generally in 4 volumes).
