In-8, stiff vellum over boards, cold-stamped supra-libris in center, long title on spine, gilt head, untrimmed, cover (Pierson). First edition with 2 photoglypics of the painter Corot, one of which shows him painting in the open air. Catalog of the first major exhibition organized in tribute to the landscape painter, who died that year. One of the extremely rare deluxe copies reprinted on vellum paper: this is Philippe Burty's (1830-1890) copy, bound with his emblem. Attached is a copper engraving by Louis Français, engraved after the Démocrite et les Abdéritains presented by Corot at the 1841 Salon (small stamp in red ink). Stamp in violet ink on one endpaper: Le Guide de l'Amateur d'œuvres d'art / direction Henri Garnier.
