First edition of this work devoted to various major artists of 18th-century France: Watteau, Chardin, Boucher, Greuze, Fragonard, Debucourt, Gravelot, Eisen, Cochin, Moreau le jeune, etc. Complete collection of the 12 issues published from 1859 to 1875, each printed at 200 copies, with 38 (of 42) etchings by the Goncourt brothers. Autograph address to Théophile Gautier: "au maître et à l'ami" on the fascicule dedicated to LA TOUR. Signature of Alidor Delzant on some covers.
