MÉRIMÉE (Prosper). Colomba. Preface by Maurice Tourneux. Paris, Librairie Conquet, Carteret & Cie, 1904. Large in-8, brown morocco, decorated white calf inset at top of first cover, wide gilt inner lace, olive moire lining and endpapers, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine (Combe). 63 original compositions by Daniel Vierge, wood-engraved by Noël and Paillard. One of 200 copies on Marais vellum. The white calf binding is decorated with a composition in light relief, the design of which echoes the motif of the book cover designed by Adolphe Giraldon. First cover and spine discolored.
