BETTENCOURT Pierre. THE DIVINE MARQUIS. HIGH RELIEF N°6. MIXED TECHNIQUE. Circa 1955. 117x 67 cm. Mixed media made from wood bark, ceramic pieces, shells, nails and paint. One of Pierre Bettencourt's most important high-reliefs. From the '55s onwards, Pierre Bettencourt created a series of high-reliefs using various raw materials he gathered. This one, number 6, evoking the Marquis de Sade, is one of his first. Provenance: Artist's family, then Galerie Les Yeux Fertiles
