A carved limestone Virgin and Child. Standing, the Virgin holds the Child seated on her left arm; her head is crowned with a wreath resting on a veil that reveals her hair, which falls in long strands over her shoulders; she wears a belted dress, flared at the waist, and a cloak draped over the front and tied at her right side; the Child, dressed in a mid-length tunic also belted, holds a fruit in his left hand and reaches out with his other hand toward the bird (now missing) that was perched on his Mother’s arm. Champagne, c. 1530 H. 119.5 cm (some damage, losses, and wear)
