The theological virtue holds a child to her chest on her left side while grasping the arm of another child standing near her; her hair is pulled up into a bun from which hangs a veil falling down her back; her forehead is adorned with a flower accented by a pearl; she is dressed in a belted gown and a cloak, one panel of which falls over the front. Fine quality of chiseling and gilding. Northern Italy, Venice, circa 1580/1590 H. 13.2 cm On a blackened wooden base. Two old collector’s labels on the underside of the base.
