L'Art de la finure, or the Ladies' Toilet, poem in three songs. Paris, Lefuel, undated [1811]. In-18, 2 ff.n.ch. and 155 pp.: soft pink calf, black fillets and thin cold rolled, large rectangle-losange frame with rounded corners, small gilt iron at the corners, gilt fleuron in the center, smooth spine decorated, gilt edges (contemporary binding). Original edition. Poem in three songs about the art of the hairdresser and other fashion artists. "The light masterpieces of our hairdressers and fashion artists are no more immortal [than those of painters and sculptors], no doubt; on the contrary, they shine and disappear on the same day. But if they are born in the morning and die in the evening, they are soon reborn in new forms, and have periods of immortality" (p. 95). Charming semi-flexible decorated pink calf binding. This kind of binding is uncommon. The frontispiece is missing; tiny trace of worm on the spine.
