In-4, 6 ff.n.ch., 224 pp., 1 p.n.ch., 3 ff.n.ch.The following documents are available: blue-green morocco, smooth spine and boards entirely decorated in gold and cold with gold spots, fillets and chevrons suggesting a sunset on a rough sea, title cold-stamped in large capitals on the first course, edge-to-edge lining of green morocco decorated with stylized golden seabirds (gull or albatross), green ribbed silk endpapers, double endpapers with marbled paper, cover, gold edges on witnesses, half morocco shirt and slipcase (G. Cretté succ. de Marius Michel). 50 compositions by Lucien Simon engraved on wood in colour by Pierre Bouchet. Official painter of the Navy, Lucien Simon (1861-1945) won a gold medal in 1900 and the Grand Prix in 1937, at the International Exhibition. Edition of 150 copies, including 125 on Arches vellum and 25 for collaborators. Copy no. 27, nominative for Albert Natural (II, 2009, no. 517). The binding, made for him, has a gilt superbookplate at the foot of the upper back cover. Copy enriched with: - a nice original gouache signed by Lucien Simon, placed in the frontispiece. - a print in Bouchet colors after Lucien Simon, signed by the engraver and bearing a signed pencil submission to Albert Natural, dated 1935. - a silk proof of this print by Bouchet, signed, followed by a proof of the same print and the decomposition of the colours in 11 plates. - an autograph letter signed by Pierre Loti, addressed to Pierre Louÿs and dated de Rochefort, December 9 [1905] (4 pages in-12 on the letterhead of the 4th depot Équipage de la Flotte, envelope preserved), about a statuette by Rivière. - the autograph manuscript signed by Louis Barthou for his preface to Charles Miguet (4 pages in-4 on blue paper).
