MAN SEATED IN NAYARIT CULTURE, STYLE OF SAN SEBASTIÁN, WESTERN MEXICO Protocol Classical, 100 B.C.-250 A.D. Brown ceramic, oxidized H. 46.5 cm He is naked, arms detached from the trunk with hands resting on the knees. The sex is underlined in slight relief. Head with facial features very representative of the Nayarit culture: long straight nose slightly rolled up with dilated nostrils. Eyes made of coffee beans, skull ritually deformed with an elegant pastille hairstyle. Back made up with paint forming zigzags. Presence of a simple two-legged stool. (Restoration and visible acc., missing). Provenance: Former Carlo Monzino collection, Switzerland, 1980 Private collection, Paris.
