Written by a Society of Cailletes [sic]. At the Cap de Bonne-Espérance, and is in Paris, Chez la Librairie which gives three books for forty-five sols, s.d. [circa 1790]. In-12, paperback, gilt paper cover with orange vegetal decoration, untrimmed (Cartonnage d'attente of the time). Dinaux, Sociétés badines, t. I, p. 133. - Gay-Lemonnyer, t. I, col. 198. Frontispiece representing the Société des Caillettes in a living room, and engraved title placed with a vignette. A facetious work comprising 144 puns, in the image of this one: An Actress, from some theater, being on the hunt, shot a Crow, & in that same instant her foot slipped & sank into the mud. Soon as she got up she said: I think I've got Cornelius and I've got Roots. Charming cover of paper with gold dominoté paper.
