HISTORIAL DU JONGLEUR (L ). French Chronicles and Legends. Paris, Firmin Didot, 1829. In-8, buff paper boards, plates decorated with a large interlacing design, smooth spine, blue title, untrimmed (publisher's boards). First edition of this collection of medieval tales, published by Ferdinand Langlé and Emile Morice and printed entirely in Gothic script. It is illustrated with a few vignettes and lettering imitated from medieval manuscripts and woodcuts by Henri Monnier and Eugène Lami. A copy with the illuminated vignettes and lettering, preserved in its publisher's paperback.
