Histoire de S. Louys IX. du Nom, Roy de France. A Paris, Chez Sébastien Mabre-Cramoisy, 1668. In-folio (395 x 277 mm), red morocco decorated in the Duseuil style with arms in the center, spine decorated with arms and gilt numerals alternating in the entrenerfs, gilt edges (period binding). CHARMING EDITION of this history of St. Louis, decorated with a fine frontispiece portrait of the king, engraved headpieces, lettering, and endpapers. Bunet (III, 556-557) states that it is sought after because of the historical observations and dissertations of Charles du Cange that it contains. A sumptuous copy on large paper, bound in morocco with the arms of Pierre Séguier. Margins of some introductory leaves browned, including the title page. Corners of the binding slightly deformed. Some very slight rubbing It comes from the library of the Count of Lignerolles (Sale of 1894, IIIrd part, 2512: "beautiful copy", notice cut and pastedown)
