VERLAINE Paul (1844-1896).
Autograph letter signed to his publisher Léon Vanier. August 12, 1889. 1 p. 1/2 in-8 on administrative paper of the hospital. Verlaine is anxious to put his affairs in order: "It is important for me to know if all the obligations you have undertaken towards me have been fulfilled. Is the edition of the Memoirs of a Widower sold out? (...) You have reprinted the Fêtes Galantes and the Romances sans paroles in 600 copies. Is this edition out of print ? (...) You were supposed to publish the 2nd series separately at 253 copies with portraits, according to the treaty (16 8ber 1886). Contrary to our contract, this edition did not take place. Why? (...)" He also asks for the fate of Amour et Parallèlement. He asks for a copy of the treaties concerning Louise Leclercq and the Poèmes Saturniens, as well as a definition of their situation with regard to Jadis et Naguère "Indicate to me the press service made for the re-edition of Sagesse and for the edition of Parallèlement. I await your answer or your visit (...)".
