FRENCH REVOLUTION. - Album of 66 engraved portraits. S.l.n.d. [early 19th century]. Small folio, green morocco, gilt coat of arms on the first plate, spine with crowned N at the head, gilt inner lace, green moire lining and endpapers, gilt edges (Roger de Coverly & Sons). 66 portraits engraved on copper by Duplessi-Bertaux, representing the most important characters of the history of the French Revolution, from Louis XVI to Bonaparte first Consul of the Republic in the year VIII. This is the complete series of portraits found in the last volume of the Collection des tableaux historiques de la Révolution française published in 1804. Formerly colored proofs, cut with a square line and mounted on leaves; preceded by a dummy title, they have been gathered in an album, bound in morocco with the arms and figure of Napoleon. Some foxing. Binding sunned and stained.
