Large in-8, brown morocco, triple gilt fillet, spine decorated, interior framed with gilt fillets and various irons, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine (Bernasconi). 3 large out-of-text compositions, 21 headpieces and one endpaper, drawn and engraved in etching by Frantisek Kupka, plus a cover, endpapers and page frames engraved on wood and in colour. Edition of 300 copies: one of 100 copies, this one on Arches paper, containing 3 states of the plates, including the pure etching. Prospectus bound in at the end. A well-established copy, to which are attached 3 AUTOGRAPHIC LETTERS FROM THE ARTIST about his profession as an illustrator: in one of them, he offers for sale, at war price, thus renouncing the realization of the planned book, an original model for an edition of the Song of Songs. Spine slightly faded.
