NORVINS (baron de). History of Napoleon. Paris, Furne et Cie, 1839. Large in-8, bradel half red morocco, smooth spine with gilt title, gilt head, untrimmed, cover and spine (Binding around 1900). Frontispiece engraved on steel by Burdet and 80 wood-engraved plates after Raffet. A copy with mainly first edition remarks. From the library of Pierre Duché, with ex-libris. A very fine copy, complete with the Avis au relieur (in first state, indicating 81 subjects) which is often missing and in which 2 delivery covers have been bound. Attached is a Avis d'ordonnance de paiement of 1855 (one large in-8 printed page, filled in by pen and stamped).
