LELOIR (Maurice). - Lot 171
LELOIR (Maurice). A woman of quality in the last century. Paris, 1778. Paris, Boussod, Manzi, Joyant et Cie, 1899. In-folio, red morocco, double framed with gilt filets, gilt border with large fleuron at the corners, interior framed with a set of fifteen gilt filets, lining and endpapers of red faille, gilt edges on witnesses, cover and spine, (Marius Michel). 87 delicate watercolors by Maurice Leloir, engraved and drawn in colors: it is the best illustration of the artist. Amazing publication, very refined and kitschy today, which could be the answer to the Monument du costume, given by the bibliophiles of the 1900's, unreserved worshippers of 18th century art. Damage to the upper cover, partly torn off.
