Famous and remarkable publication published in 84 issues, one of the most beautiful of the 19th century, richly illustrated with 3 drypoint engraved title-frontispices after Trimolet and numerous copperplate engraved compositions after Daubigny, Grandville, Trimolet, Steinheil, Boilly, De Beaumont, etc. First edition. AN EXCEPTIONAL COPY PRESERVED IN ISSUES, AS ISSUED. It contains about twenty duplicate issues, 20 plates before all letters and presents variants reported by the bibliographers. In particular, the issue of La Marseillaise published in 1848 by Garnier, intended to replace the 57th issue of Le Café, has been added, as well as the in-8 booklet entitled La Marseillaise (1841), illustrated with 7 woodcut vignettes after Charlet, 8 ornate letters after Birouste, a vignette after Tony Johannot and a portrait of Rouget de Lisle after David D'Angers.
