Connoissance des temps pour l'Année Bissextile 1740 au Méridien de Paris. Paris, De l'Imprimerie Royale, 1740, In-12, red morocco, triple gilt fillet, coat of arms in the center, spine decorated, repeated crowned numeral, interior roulette, gilt edges on marble (Binding of the time). Astronomical and navigational directory first published in 1679, mainly written by different academics as here by the astronomer Maraldi who followed it for 25 years (cf. the notice of Françoise Bléchet in the Dictionnaire des journaux). Allegorical frontispiece engraved by Simonneau and 3 folding maps: a map of constellations, a map of the Moon and a map of France drawn by Guillaume Delisle. A fine copy bearing the arms of Louis de Bourbon-Condé (1709-1771), Count of Clermont, abbot of Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Bec-Hellouin. Small wetness on the upper edge of the title, a few leaves faded.
