The Timee dealing with the nature of the World, & of Man, & with what universally concerns both the soul and the body of both. [...] Three orations of Demosthene... Paris, De l'Imprimerie de Michel de Vascosan, 1551. 2 parts in one volume in-4, calf turned over, framed with two triple cold fillets with small fleuron at the corners, three-ribbed spine (Modern binding in the old taste). First edition in French of Plato's Timaeus, the capital work of the Greek philosopher. It was translated by Louis Le Roy (1510-1577), known as Regius, philosopher and translator whose prose contributed to the revival and brilliance of the French language of his time. Nice impression by Michel de Vascosan. Some underlining of the text and old annotations in pen. Copy in modern binding in the old taste, the general title and the following leaf being rebacked.
