Interesting specimen of binding with odorless varnish, decorated on the boards with a pelican feeding its young with its flesh. Tired binding, first board detached. In-4, brown leather in relief with Renaissance decoration, black velvet spine (Dulud & Cie) Curious binding decorated in relief in the style of Renaissance sculptures. Made around 1860, it bears the signature of Dulud & Cie in Paris. Léon Gruel owned a binding with a similar decoration, signed Dulud and Alexandre Schoenewerk (see the catalog of the Collection Léon et Paul Gruel, n°25, with reproduction). Damage to the binding.
