Mademoiselle de La Vallière as an allegory of History in front of the portrait of King Louis XIV, presented by a winged cherub. At her feet, the attributes of History in front of a perspective of a castle and a landscape background. Oval miniature on vellum (mounted on copper). On the reverse side of the miniature, an inscription on the copper in pen: "from the sale of Mr Negaret, Treasurer of the Count of Artois". In a gilded metal frame chased and embossed, bearing the mention on the reverse with a pen: "Melle de la Vallière holding the portrait of Louis the Fourteenth, she is represented with the attributes of the Muse of History". This miniature comes from Mr the Count of Artois, it was sold 112 F on May 10, 1807". Miniature : H. 10 - L. 8 cm Frame : H. 20 - L. 18,5 cm
