Manuscript attributed to Moricet secretary of Henri duc de Bordeaux Comte de Chambord, entitled "De Frohsdorf à Constantinople et en Grèce". 413 pp. in-4, bound in full black percaline with cold stamped liter on the first plate. Beautiful legible writing, presence of a second hand intervened in order to make corrections (later writing). Trip undertaken by the Count of Chambord and his suite (Moricet, the Duke of Lorge, the Duke of Modena, the Jesuit Father Buffoli. Dr. Angelino surgeon, etc.) after the death of Father Trebuquet (confessor of the Duke) between April 13, 1868 and May 15 of the same year. The journey took this noble areopagus from Paris to Hungary on the Danube where they embarked in Basiach. After some Owsowa Tumseverin in Romania they arrived in Constantinople from which they left on 25 Apr in the direction of Athens then Magare, stopovers (including Kalamaki, Corinth (then by boat). Cephalonia, Corfu, Mt Pantaleone, Brindisi, Loretta Bologna, Venice. This travelogue includes extensive descriptions of the countries visited, historical and geographical anecdotes, personal and political thoughts, social visits and accommodations in the squares or at the homes of high officials (nobles or others) of the places visited, some accompanying the duke and his retinue over several days. This copy is accompanied by a hotel bill, 4 autographed letters signed by witnesses of this trip and two period photos.
