AYMÉ Marcel (1902-1967)
The Retreat from Russia. Fragment of autograph manuscript, (s.l.n.d.1930). 2 1/2 pp., 22 x 31 cm, fine writing in black ink. These are fragments of the original manuscript of "La retraite de Russie". Marcel Aymé works on "La Retraite de Russie" in March 1930, this short story will be published in "Les Nouvelles Littéraires" of April 5, 1930. The writing of these two pages becomes more and more fine and collected. These pages are rich in corrections; they are not numbered, and do not include any mention of chapter. This short story tells of a rivalry between two students. The first one, "Le petit Doré", a good and red-haired student, the second one, Léon Jard, a bad student, jealous of the first one. Léon Jard plays a bad trick on the little Doré and the latter takes advantage of a history lesson on Marshal Ney to take his revenge. Provenance: to the present owner by descent from the author. Bibliography: Marcel Aymé, Œuvres romanesques complètes (Ed. Yves-Alain Favre), t1, Bibliothèque de la Pléiade n°352. Document with a CBC
