BRISSON (Jean-Luc). LASCAULT (Gilbert). La Fête à la Grenoui - Lot 9
BRISSON (Jean-Luc). LASCAULT (Gilbert). La Fête à la Grenouille. Roubaix, Brandes, 1990, in-8, paperback, filled cover, 56 p. First edition. One of 60 numbered head copies on pur fil vellum, numbered and signed by the author and artist, accompanied by two electrolytic stamps justified and signed by Jean-Luc BRISSON, who also produced the in-text vignettes and 12 out-of-text illustrations in the collection. - BRISSON Jean-Luc. Untitled. Large clothbound album of a hundred sheets of Ingres d'Arches filigree paper (51 x 34 cm), comprising 86 pages of black ink drawings of frogs of all sizes and from all possible angles, sometimes very realistic, often skinned, sometimes fantastic or downright monstrous. It seems that Jean-Luc Brisson devoted himself to this occupation for quite a long time. Autograph dedication signed by the artist on the corner of a blank sheet: "one thousand nine hundred and eighty-five frogs of various categories for Gilbert Lascault with all my friendship". Two pages of Lascault's autograph notes on an envelope, obviously inspired by the abundance of drawings in the album, are enclosed. There are some 290 frogs sketched or crushed, sometimes a dozen per page.
