ADAMOV Arthur. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED to Antonin ARTAUD. May 22, 1946. One and a half in-4 pages in ink on colored paper (light stains). At the end of February 1946, Arthur Adamov and Marthe Robert visit Artaud in Rodez. They decided to prepare his return to Paris and organized an auction for his benefit. Artaud returned to Paris on May 26, 1946. Dear Artaud, I'm writing you this note in haste (Marthe has written to you at greater length) to tell you that unless Dr. Ferdière has given a contrary order, we expect you on Sunday morning, May 26, at 9 a.m. at the Gare d'Austerlitz. Artaud, you mustn't blame us, I'm telling you things as they are. We're obliged to put you in a clinic for the time being, for a few weeks, a few months at most. You can trust us. You know that we are with you against all your enemies, who are our enemies even though we have suffered less than you from them. And I do mean against all your enemies, both visible and invisible.
