BRETON André. - Lot 79
BRETON André.
AUTOGRAPHIC LETTER SIGNED to the editor of l'Eventail magazine. Pantin, March 28, 1918. 2 pages in-8.
André Breton, aged 22, has just met Guillaume Apollinaire, whom he admires. He again asks the magazine's director, who had promised to publish his article in L'Éventail.... The article Guillaume Apollinaire had asked me to send you for the fan should have reached you several weeks ago. As I have since been told not to rely too much on the post, I would be grateful if you could let me know if you have received my manuscript. It was about fifteen pages on the work of Apollinaire, who must have spoken to Monsieur Edouard Dujardin about it.
BRETON André. AUTOGRAPH LETTER SIGNED to the editor of l'Eventail magazine. Moret, July 1, 1918. 2 pages in-8 on colored paper.
Breton's second letter to the editor of l'Eventail, reminding him of his promise to publish his article on Apollinaire As you had asked me to review the proofs of my article on Guillaume Apollinaire, for the seventh issue of L'Éventail, I wonder if you still wish to have them. The appearance of Calligrammes in bookshops makes me fear that one day it will cease to be relevant.
André Breton gives his address: medical student, 81st heavy artillery regiment, COAL infirmary, Moret.
