BRETON André. CAMARADES. AUTOGRAPH MANUSCRIPT SIGNED. January 26, 1937, 4 pages in-4 in green ink (folds and a few stains). Manuscript of André Breton's speech at a meeting organized by the Internationalist Workers' Party in January 1937. On the occasion of the second Moscow trial, Breton spoke at a meeting organized by the P.O.I. in Magic City, denouncing the lies of Soviet power: ... Comrades, you will say with us that the men who are produced unrecognizable on the rickety trestles of the Moscow courts have earned by their past the right to continue to live, and that you have every confidence in the Catalan and Spanish revolutionary avant-garde not to tear itself apart and to save, despite Stalin as despite Mussolini and Hitler, the honor and hope of this time.
