GRACQ Julien. - Lot 195
GRACQ Julien. 6 SIGNED AUTOGRAPH LETTERS (including 5 letter-cards) and 2 SIGNED AUTOGRAPH WISHING CARDS to François DI DIO Saint Florent le Vieil, 1988-2003 and 1 SIGNED AUTOGRAPH LETTER to Christian BOURGOIS. 7 pages in-8 or in-12 in ink, 5 envelopes kept. Correspondence from Julien Gracq to Soleil Noir publisher François di Dio, concerning Stanislas Rodanski, Jean-Pierre Duprey and Claude Tarnaud. Your meticulous publishing project is proof of your loyalty to the memory of Rodanski, and I'm touched! I have no objection to this exhaustive edition... and I sincerely hope that it will find buyers, even outside the circle of Rodanski's friends, the faithful on whom you can happily count. I've received JP Duprey's works, and I'm delighted that they're appearing, but as with Rodanski, there's a certain melancholy in seeing texts for which you once took all the risks, now republished elsewhere, their publisher benefiting from your work, which was a pioneering effort as meritorious as it was adventurous. I've seen that there have been many articles in periodicals about the re-publication of Duprey's book, and little by little, its public will be found, and we'll be delighted... Thank you very much for sending me this poem by Tarnaud, whose sense of isolation I love, and the drowning, albeit of a masterpiece of the most sophisticated technique in the equally devastated world of formlessness... ... it's true that the ranks of those who have counted for us are thinning to the point of disappearing: after Matta, the dispersal of André Breton's interior is like a second death. Forward at last beyond the tombs, said Goethe. Enclosed is a set of corrections to the book Stanislas Rodanski ou Le Prisme noir by Cédric Demangeot, titled Dernières corrections par Di Dio. 4 pages in-4, and an autograph note by Di Dio reiterating Julien Gracq's text on Claude Tarnaud.
