TITUS-CARMEL Gérard. - Lot 301
TITUS-CARMEL Gérard. 2 AUTOGRAPH LETTERS SIGNED to Mathieu BÉNÉZET. Pléneuf and Paris, 1967, 1971. 7 pages in-4 in ink, 2 envelopes preserved. Beautiful poetic letter from Titus Carmel. Brittany is like Ireland... it breathes Celtic pride, druids, mystery. There was such an impression of necessary beauty in the air of this little bay that it became not so much beauty as self-evident. Everything then became the image of F. her smile, the clouds, the wind... the only wind, the Celtic wind, that has a sense of humor... her white body and me, such an urge to jump from the top of the promontory, crashing into the black rocks that opened their sinister jaws... it reminded me of some bad cartoons of my childhood, the hero horrified and seduced on the edge of a snake pit... finally arriving like one of my angels and making the bay resonate, making his body vibrate, his whole person from the soft shock of my fall... from my crushing, from the impact finally allowed from the connection... I didn't jump. Enclosed: SEGUI Antonio. SIGNED TYPESCRIPT BILL. I'm sending you the portrait of Mathieu Bénézet you asked for, as I haven't seen him for fifteen years. It really is an imaginary portrait. ESTEBAN Claude. AUTOGRAPHIC LETTER SIGNED to Mathieu BÉNÉZET. Paris, May 5, 1978. One and a half pages in-4, envelope preserved. I listen to you speak and I think - am I wrong - that the great iconoclast that you are hides very subtly a great idolater. NORGE. FAIM DE LOUP. AUTOGRAPH POEM SIGNED. Unpublished poem of three quintiles, titled, signed and dedicated to Mathieu Bénézet. And to top it off (oh Holy Spirit) / While I'm gnawing a bit / Feigning jealous love / You devour Jesus Christ / With a wolf's hunger! 131
