TROUILLE Clovis. - Lot 303
TROUILLE Clovis.
2 AUTOGRAPH LETTERS SIGNED to Noël ARNAUD. July 10, 1947 and November 1, 1951. One page in-8 and one page in-4 in ink.
The first letter is critical: ... As you know, I am committed to proletarian revolution, but I am against the slogans of the French Communist Party... You will always find Breton in front of you when it comes to surrealism. The word belongs to him. He is the father of surrealism. Give him the word to avoid confusion and put an end to internal quarrels.
The second letter is more friendly: ... you know that, having been bewitched by Rimbaud, Mallarmé and Reverdy, I can no longer love anything other than poetry freed from logical meanings... the eccentricities of cubist and abstract drawings do not exclude banality. Everything exists, there's nothing to invent. I is another.
