Tristan Tzara takes exception to a note published in the February issue of the newspaper La Liberté, in which he feels targeted: ... on February 3 I was informed that the organizing committee of the Paris Congress had unanimously decided to invite me to sit among them. I refused the very same day, in a letter giving my reasons of a theoretical nature... An organizing committee that indulges in critical judgments (the Dada movement no longer corresponds to any reality) are commercial advertising enterprises that have no right to delimit modernism... All this aside from the ridiculousness of such an idea...
