Scotin (17), Claude Lucas (12), A. Aveline (3), Hérisset (2) and Scotin jeune (1) after F. Delamonce and J. Chaufourier. UNIFORM CONTEMPORARY BINDINGS. Red morocco, gilt decoration, coat of arms in the center of the boards, gilt roulette and gilt filleting, ornate ribbed spines with coat of arms, gilt paper lining and endpapers embossed with floral motifs, gilt edges. PROVENANCE : Duke Auguste Guillaume de Brunswick-Lunebourg (1662-1731; arms on boards; plate with his coat of arms engraved by P. Bucaille, pasted on reverse of title) -- Jacques Bemberg (bookplate; Paris, March 6, 2014, lot 93) Hinges very slightly rubbed, edge of linings and endpapers slightly blackened, small restoration to plan and one plate with small angular lack (t. I, facing p. 251). The famous guide to Paris by Germain Brice (c. 1653-1727) was reprinted several times between 1684 and 1752, some in English. The great collections and cabinets of the curious are extensively described.
