Two tombak sconce elements Tombak - copper gilded with mercury Turkey, 16th century, Ottoman Empire Plate: 28 x 9 cm Fleuron: 17 x 6.5 cm The first, decorated with openwork plant motifs and rectangular in shape, was probably a door element. The second forms a hinge with a tubular part and two fastening holes in the form of an openwork fleuron with arabesque and palmettes motifs.
