Ottoman bridal wear Silk, gauze, cotton and metallic threads Turkey, Selim III period, late 18th-early 19th century Pants: H. 150 cm - Jacket: H. 56 cm (wear) Provenance : - French art market, 1990s. The outfit consists of large pants and a jacket embroidered on pink silk, a pink gauze vest edged with metallic threads, and a long gauze coat finely embroidered and partly lined with silk. This impressive Ottoman bridal outfit is embroidered with bouquets of flowers in relief. The sleeves and edges of the jacket are embellished with floral lace friezes.
