This candleholder in the form of an architectural column is made of ivory. Its three-step pyramidal base is topped with a succession of rings of varying thickness. The shaft is fluted and ends in a concave ring reminiscent of the neck. The whole is decorated with polychrome floral friezes, separated by golden lines. This object is reminiscent of the Murshidabad ivory pieces produced in the 18th century for the European market.
