Writing set Steel partly inlaid with silver, traces of gilding, wooden scabbard Sri Lanka - Ceylon, 18th century Maximum height 22.5 cm Provenance : - Joost van den Bergh This writing set includes a small two-pronged tool and a knife in a leather sheath. The knife handle is silver repoussé with floral motifs, on a wooden core. The forked steel tool features silver damascened decoration. They are accompanied by two long styli (used for writing on palm leaves), partly silvered, decorated with gadrooned spheres and graduated registers of geometric motifs.
