Ottoman velvet panel from Scutari Red and green velvet on a cream background Turkey, Scutari, 19th century H. at sight 115 cm - L. at sight 56.5 cm (Wear) This velvet panel from Uskudar, a Turkish town better known as Scutari, was probably a yastik, or cushion cover. It features a central medallion decorated with stylized bunches of grapes on a scattering of flowers. The border features a frieze of grapes and foliage embroidered in blue and red.
