Horse head Khanjar Tinted ivory, steel North India, 18th century, Mughal period H. 34.6 cm Weight : 195,6g This khanjar features a red-tinted ivory handle. The animal's halter, reins, hair and eyes are delicately engraved. Its mouth reveals its teeth. Horse-shaped handles can be found on many khanjars from the Mughal period, in different materials such as serpentine, jade, ivory or steel.
