This separ shield features a central openwork decoration of a flower organized around a calligraphic cartouche. The petals are alternated by four raised bosses and four mandorles with engraved animal motifs. The central openwork flower is surrounded by a frieze of calligraphic cartouches alternating with arabesque cartouches, all in gold damascened. Another frieze of gold-damascened foliage decorates the shield's perimeter.
